Animated Austin Powers Scrapped?
/>Fans of Mike Myers' Austin Powers character will have to get used to seeing him on the bigscreen. A deal to bring the character to the small screen in animated form has apparently been scrapped, mainly due to the success of the recent sequel.
The Hollywood Reporter says sources close to Myers and New Line, the producer of the film and proposed animated series, felt the series may undermine plans for a third Austin Powers flick, following the $100+ million success of the "The Spy Who Shagged Me." A third film has yet to be announced, but Myers reportedly would like to continue doing Powers films at the rate of one every three years if New Line will let him. Myers recently signed a $20 million deal to bring his "Sprockets" character from "Saturday Night Live" to the big screen, and will also be starring in a live-action version of "Scooby Doo."
