NBC Enterprises Renews 'Starting Over'It looks like more women will get the chance to begin their lives anew in front of syndicated television audiences. NBC's owned and operated stations have given the go-ahead for a second season of "Starting Over," the reality drama from Bunim-Murray Prods. The series, from the "Real World" and "Simple Life" team, follows a constantly changing group of women as they live in a Chicago home and try to change the course of their lives. Produced through NBC Enterprises, "Starting Over" premiered earlier this fall. "We are very excited that our partners at the NBC owned and operated stations see the long-term value in a show like this," says NBC Enterprises President Ed Wilson. "'Starting Over' is a departure from the daytime norm and has really become a favorite of young female viewers. It has shown consistent growth since its September debut and we look forward to a strong second half of the season."
Naturally, the syndicated series has performed particularly well among young women, frequently delivering the highest concentration of women 18-49 of any nationally syndicated program. Compared to time period results from November sweeps 2002, "Starting Over" has yielded a 50 percent increase in women 18-49 and a 33 percent increase among women 25-54.
