Cable Ratings Are 'Sponge'-Worthy Nickelodeon dominated the basic-cable ratings last week, scoring eight of the top 10 shows. But because most of them aired during the morning and afternoon, the network finished third in the prime-time rankings.TNT came out on top in that race, averaging 2.28 million viewers a night for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 11. USA was second with 2.22 million viewers, followed by Nick, 2.2 million; HBO, 2.14 million; and the Disney Channel, 2.05 million."Sex and the City" was the most-watched show on any cable network, ad-supported or not. The HBO series scored 5.8 million viewers Sunday night and was the only cable show to crack the 5 million-viewer mark on the week.A Saturday-morning showing of "The Fairly OddParents" on Nick led the basic-cable slate with 4.33 million viewers. Its lead-in, "SpongeBob SquarePants," was second with just over 4.2 million people watching. Spike TV's "WWE Raw" came in third with 4.19 million viewers. The only other non-Nickelodeon show to make the Top 10 was MTV's "Real World: San Diego," which premiered to an audience of 3.89 million and finished seventh. Three more episodes each of "SpongeBob" and "OddParents" filled the rest of the Top 10 list.After "Sex and the City," HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" was the most-watched show on premium cable, with 2.63 million viewers. HBO drew about 2.4 million folks to a Saturday-night showing of the movie "Just Married."
