New ABC Pilot for 'Boomtown' CreatorA new series from "Boomtown" creator Graham Yost leads the list of three drama pilots picked up by ABC. Efforts from John McNamara ("Profit," "Fastlane") and Sally Robinson (HBO's "Iron Jawed Angels") were also ordered up by the drama-starved network.Graham and Christopher Yost are the minds behind "43 Minutes," a potentially innovative drama following a SWAT team. Each episode would play out in real time over the final 43 minutes of a crisis situation. The Robinson series, "111 Gramercy Street" was originally developed for the 2003 pilot season, but the network determined that while the "Upstairs, Downstairs" themes were interesting, the actual concept needed improvements. The new version focuses on three nannies and their employers in an upscale New York apartment building.
"Eyes," from McNamara, centers on a high-end, high-tech security firm. ABC executives describe it as big and splashy. These three dramas join the previously announced pilots "Doing It," "Desperate Housewives," "Secret Service" and "Naked Hotel."
