FOX Makes Room for More 'Dad' Seth MacFarlane's "American Dad" doesn't premiere until February, but FOX already wants more of it.The network has ordered six additional episode of the animated series from "Family Guy" creator MacFarlane, bringing the show's total to 19. FOX has also asked for eight scripts beyond the episode order; given the long lead time for animation, though, those episodes likely wouldn't be finished before next fall."American Dad" focuses on Stan Smith (voiced by MacFarlane), a CIA agent who takes his job very seriously -- to the point that he posts a terror-alert indicator on the refrigerator and subjects his liberal daughter to metal-detector scans when she comes home. This being a MacFarlane show, the Smith household also includes a sardonic space alien named Roger, whom Stan rescued from Area 51, and a German-speaking goldfish who has the hots for Stan's wife."American Dad" is scheduled to premiere Sunday, Feb. 6, following FOX's broadcast of the Super Bowl. "Family Guy" got a similar launch in 1999.
