The two stars of FX's plastic-surgery drama "Nip/Tuck" will have a little extra motivation to give good performances this season.

Julian McMahon and Dylan Walsh will each enter the third season with hefty bonuses in their pockets, thanks to the network and "Nip/Tuck" producer Warner Bros. TV. Filming on the new season, which opens in September, is scheduled to start this week.

The parties involved aren't commenting, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, each actor received a bonus of about $300,000. FX paid the lion's share of the sum, with Warner Bros. throwing in a little as well.

Co-star Joely Richardson also reportedly received a bonus, although the amount wasn't disclosed.

"Nip/Tuck" is FX's highest-rated original series. The show's second season last year averaged 3.8 million viewers and hit a high of 5.2 million with its cliffhanger season finale. It also draws well among adults 18-49, the sweet spot for advertisers.

Meanwhile, the Reporter also says that Rhona Mitra will be joining the cast in a recurring role this season. Mitra, late of ABC's "Boston Legal," is set to play a detective investigating the attack on Dr. Christian Troy (McMahon) seen at the end of last season.

She's the second new cast member to be announced in recent days. Bruno Campos ("The D.A."), who appeared on the show as a guest star last season, will become a regular.
