FX wants filmmaker Morgan Spurlock to keep cooking up his monthlong social experiments.

The cable network has ordered a second season of the documentary series "30 Days," in which Spurlock ("Super Size Me") films subjects living a life way outside their normal experience for a month. The show's first season featured Spurlock and his fiancee living on minimum wage and a Christian experiencing life as a Muslim, among other stories.

"It's been such a great experience working with FX. It's not often that you can find a place that fosters creativity and allows you to produce shows that really matter," Spurlock says. "Our first season tackled some of the most important hot-button topics in our country, and I look forward to exploring even more compelling issues next season."

Although it didn't approach the ratings for FX's drama series, "30 Days" still delivered decent-sized audiences for the network. The series averaged 1.4 million viewers during its six-week run, and about 70 percent of the audience fell in the demographically desirable adults 18-49 group.

R.J. Cutler ("American High"), Ben Silverman ("The Office") and H.T. Owens executive produce "30 Days" with Spurlock. A return date for the show hasn't been determined yet.
