TNT Checks Out 'Librarian' Sequel With his "ER" career winding down, Noah Wyle is set to play an unlikely action hero again.Wyle will reprise his role as overeducated librarian Flynn Carsen in a sequel to TNT's "The Librarian," which was a hit for the cable network late last year. The new project is one of three original movies TNT announced Tuesday (April 12) at its upfront presentation to advertisers in New York.In addition to the "Librarian" sequel, the network will adapt best-selling books by Scott Turow and Frederick Forsyth in the coming months. Advertisers also got a peek at TNT's summer slate, which includes the miniseries "Into the West" and weekly dramas "The Closer" and "Wanted."The first "Librarian" movie, in which Wyle's character became guardian of the historical and mythical treasures of mankind, drew nearly 7 million viewers when it premiered in December. It also starred Sonya Walger and comedy veterans Bob Newhart and Jane Curtin.Dean Devlin ("Independence Day"), who executive produced the movie, will do the same for the sequel.The other two movies TNT announced Tuesday are "Pleading Guilty," based on Turow's book of the same name, and "Avenger," based on a Forsyth novel."Pleading Guilty" centers on an ex-cop, now working for a high-end law firm, who has to track down a partner who has disappeared with millions of dollars that belong to an important client. Jon Avnet ("Boomtown") will executive produce the movie."Avenger" follows a lawyer and former Special Forces soldier who hires himself out to people to bring the killers of their loved ones to justice. Alan Sharp ("Rob Roy," "Reversible Errors") is writing the script, and Wolfgang Petersen ("The Perfect Storm") is among the exec producers.
